This is our beautiful vintage Lomo Cosmic Symbol, which was built in the USSR sometime between 1971 and 1991. She's an export model, based on the Smena Symbol (Смена Символ) - a viewfinder 35mm film camera.
Whilst colourful Lomography (the predecessor to Instagram) is certainly very apt using this camera, we've only ever shot black and white with her for some reason.
The shutter release is the long black lever directly next to the lens, which has been triggered many times by Twinkle's right thumb.
We particularly love the icons on the lens barrel used for setting the weather conditions or subject matter - portrait, family or landscape - depicted by quirky little images of people, buildings and trees.
An iconic image of this clunky little beast is now available for instant download on our Etsy store,
